Help installing Mysql php application

Greetings, I have bought a php submitter to be installed in my web site, but my knowledge of php is very limited and i need to connect it to mysql database and the software developers don't offer the best support. i get "no database connection" plus some folder premisions need to be set. I will give you the name of the developer's website as well as my two websites and mysql passwords, i would like to get this runing by the weekend if possible. Dante
