Zigzag motion in lieu of vertical motion

This project is to fix the chasing graphic's inability to travel vertically upwards or travel vertically downwards, or be in the narrow range of such directions of motion. Alternative motion is to navigate northeast then navigate northwest, and navigate northeast and then navigate northwest again and the motion alternates until the chasing graphic is "level with" the target it is pursuing, at which point, program checks whether chasing graphic is on the right side or left side of the target it is after: (i) If chasing graphic is on the right side, then it will navigate from right to close in on the target, by moving left. (ii) Whereas if chasing graphic is on the left side, then it will navigate from left to close in on the target , by moving right. Also, the exact point to alternate between Northeast and Northwest is when chasing graphic is 10 pixels further to the right of, or 10 pixels further to the left of the x-coordinate of the target it is pursuing or chasing. The parameter of 10 pixels to be adjustable or variable at user's discretion, from, say, Settings popup that appears. Similar analysis applies if the chasing graphic is otherwise chasing vertically downwards to pursue its target, in which case, similar consideratons apply "SYMMETRICALLY" to the chasing graphic in navigating Southeast and Southwest and alternating between these 2 directions in order to reach its target vertically downwards. Other than that, to provide 8 directional buttons: North, South, East, West, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, to provide for the scenario that a randomly clicked graphic appearing on the landscape will head ONE-DIRECTIONALLY on the stated button until it reaches end of the screen , ie the top, bottom, right, left, or any of the 4 corners of the computer screen. Note: for North and South , to strictly apply the zigzag method as put forth above. And then one more set of buttons for just North and South exclusively, when it is to head upwards and downwards in a straightforward manner.
