Python/PySide image side-by-side (before/after) display

Job description: We need an expert in Qt/Python/PySide programming (only) to design a simple GUI for displaying images in a before/after and left/right split. This is a proof-of-concept project and the GUI does not necessarily need to look beautiful. Efficient and robust coding style is mandatory. The application must contain the following components/functionality: 1. A QMainWindow as the main application window. 2. A file action (within a menu bar) for uploading images. 3. The uploaded image should be handled by a QGraphicsScene object and displayed in a QGraphgcsView (the central widget of the application). You are welcome to suggest another implementation, assuming it will be more efficient (speed is very important). 4. Perform some kind of small image manipulation, for example changing the contrast or color. The type of manipulation is NOT important and needed only to observe a before-and-after effect. 5. The processed image should be shown on screen (and fit the canvas size). 6. Provide a check box or button to switch the view between the original and processed image. 7. The most important part of the app - implement two different view modes of before-and-after effect (with buttons): A. Mode 1 (button 1): upon clicking, the original and the processed images are shown side by side in a split screen. Clicking the button for the second time returns to one-image view mode.
