For my MS Access application I need help with a complex query. Table-A, is a recursive Reference Data table (has Parent/ child relationship with itself) and that is where all of the data is kept which can be filtered using ParentRefID field. Table-B, has 11 boolean fields (Y/N). Records in Table-B are created using different combinations of Y/N for each of the boolean fields. Task: I would like to create a complex SQL Query. Which reads the Y (True) fields from Table-B and then get the related data for each of the fields from Reference Data table, Table-A and simply generate a permutation of the data. Sometime there are only three fields to permutate other times there may be seven fields to permutate. After permutation is done for a record the data is Appended to Table-C and the program then picks the next record in Table-B. I am avoiding VBA code at first.
